October 14th — Breakthrough! Got through to the Ambassador
I have spoken to the Head of the Government of Southern Sudan’s Mission to the United States of America, Mr. Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth! He told me to write down the details including the full names of the children, location, time and date of their abduction. Perhaps, the Government of South Sudan (GOSS) Ambassador told me that he is going to talk to the GOSS President and the Jonglei State Governor, Brig. General Philip Thon Leek, about the incident. According to the GOSS mission head, the President can talk to Ismael Kony of Pibor County (where we think the Murle gunmen were based) who is also an advisor to the President. Chief Ismael Kony can do a lot, especially if the GOSS President pressures him to do more for the release of all the children. We need to keep pressuring the GOSS office in D.C. and other agencies especially the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS).
